Iris

A surprise bloom that opened after transplanting long after the rest of the Iris bloomed.  Although it didn’t last long, it was such a beauty.  Ordinarily,  transplants bloom scantily or not at all.  I even waited until later in the season to transplant this one.  All of the Iris are now together in a more sunny location with the new perennials in the patio garden.  The thinking of a gardener is almost always about next year.
