In memory of Fargo

Goldfinches usually flock to our bird feeders throughout the winter, but this winter they have been few and far beyween.  Feels like and looks like the depths of winter have arrived, rather than the anticipated late winter birds still in their drab winter garb.  More wind and some light snow yesterday, and today a cloudless, cerulean blue  sky. Wish it were the slowly increasing light and the later sunsets that overwhelmed and not  a generalized deepening of boredom and moodiness.  The longer this goes on the more pronounced it becomes.  Winter tundra should last only two or so short months, and then cease for the awakening of spring–and to the fields of the mind. There must be a better place in my head–but where to go from here.
