A Winter Pond

Winter pond

Sometimes I believe the winter pond is even more alluring than in summer.  Hearty ground cover continues to live under the severest of conditions and keep its delicate hues of eye-catching color.  And the  Althea and Burning Bush add wintery hues and shapes to the  background. Even the boulders come to life from behind.  A constant surprise and a reminder that I should always keep looking.

The pond is pictured between bouts of  lake effect snow, and after a heavy rain.
