Moonlight and the summer solstice

The pond

Enjoyed an outdoor summer solstice jazz concert last evening, with Roger on bass. Had a sort of picnic–that is I ate my chicken and potato salad out of a box. There was a light little breeze , the sky was perfectly clear and believe it or not the birds were chirping in a nearby tree along with the music throughout. Especially a Wood Thrush which has to have the most beautiful voice on earth. Later the moon dominated as darkness fell and the blue sky turned indigo as we walked the dogs up the hill. The first day of summer. Just a reminder of how the lengthening light  conducts atmosphere and plays sweetly to our senses.
